The Answer

Even though that last one may look like a dinosaur, the doctors have assured me that it's definitely a baby . . . a baby boy! Wow, my commenters are so smart, or lucky. Any of you want to buy some lottery tickets for me? Anyway, George and I are both really happy and excited.

Now on to the name game. You're welcome to offer suggestions, which I will probably ignore. George's dad says if he's born on Oct 27th, we have to name him after George's grandfather (also George Edward Busby), but George isn't really sure. I personally am fond of the name we found reading the D&C that morning: Ruggles. Draco is also a good possibility if he has his father's hair. Or Earnest?

No, really, we're looking for something normal.

I don't know. I've never been a fan of naming kids after relatives.

I like the name Matthias though. It's different, while still being able to pass as normal if it has to, and it's a Biblical name that isn't nearly as common as some of the others.

I find it harder to think of guy names that I like though. Good luck with that;)

Good luck! I had the hardest hard time coming up with a name. A name carries so much weight and importance (I think), so it really is quite the task! I'm sure you'll pick a good one, though.
And yea! for knowing it's a boy! I think once you know what you're having, it became much more real because you can start to picture it. Fun!

Who told you that you should name him Draco if he had George's hair? Yea, that's right, me! You could also go for Lucius, but then you'd have to let him grow his hair way long and carry a cool cane. Hehe.

Yay! Congratulations! In terms of names: something that isn't easy to tease/rhyme inappropriately. Good luck with that.

I've always been fond of Mahonri Moriancumer! Who knows if I spelled that right! Just kidding. Have fun name picking. That's the hardest part.

I always liked the "Mahonri Moriancumer" name too, and my husband's grandfather was actually named "Mahonri". People called him "Han" (pronounced like Han Solo) and I think it sounds kinda cool.

Other boy suggestions: Xavier, Basil

It seems like a lot of people are giving their kids last names as first names lately.

Good luck finding a good name!
