A Simple Solution

You are a soon-to-be-married geek couple at BYU who just decided to move your wedding from December 28 to August 30. In your high-speed search for married housing, you:

A) create a spreadsheet from BYU's inadequate family housing search, eliminate entries that are too expensive or too late, then proceed to rank other information such as distance from campus and furnishing, sorting the spreadsheet to your heart's content;
B) make a Google map of the locations of the housing you are considering and color the icons to show which are near and far from campus;
C) write a program to automatically generate emails to the owners on your spreadsheet, letting them know of your interest in the property;
D) all of the above and now you can't stop giggling about how much fun it was.

I am so sorry. Finding married housing is the absolute worst. In addition to the horrible BYU housing site (yeah, you are right. it is so bad) I would check with various management companies like TPM-- they put out fliers that list all of their vacancies and you can pick them up at their office. TPM's office is in that same shopping area as Bon Losee across from Cafe Rio. And we just drove around looking for "For Rent" signs. How boring and tedious is that?
Good luck!

I think you are so fantastic.
That is all I have to say about this post. :)

I'd be careful of TPM - I haven't heard anything but bad things about them, if you know what I mean.

The wilk board is often your best bet, but be prepared for a long, hard slog to find just the right kind of place.

We had great luck with Roberta Linn and Union Square. Both come furnished (after a fashion), and have all utilities included to make life a bit easier on you. The walls are a bit thin and the apartments small, but they're not bad at all for a starter place, and you're always bound to be surrounded by similar couples.
